Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

This summer I went to Kaoma, Zambia for about a month with an organization named, Women’s Initiatives that Strengthen and Empower (WISE).  While I was there we worked in orphanages, schools and a women’s center they built.  We helped the people there in anyway we could holding babies, taking them for walks, helping children with their homework, teaching classes, sharing our faith and life with each other and learning from the people we came in contact with.   It was a time to share life, God’s love, and to bless others.    This experience affected me in so many ways.  It was amazing to worship and serve the same God in Zambia that we worship and serve in America.  It was an amazing experience to see this and feel God’s presence there.  Through this I was able to see a glimpse of how big our God really is.  Whether it was with the babies or the women, I knew God was there and He was doing amazing things.  Much of the time I was receiving so much from the people there although they had a hard time believing this because they felt that they did not have much to offer.  I learned how blessed my life is and how blessed we are in America and how we take too much for granted in our lives.  I have learned to appreciate more of God’s blessings in my life and to see each and everyday as a gift from the Lord.  We are challenged to do hard things and to get out of our comfort zonesThe most radical growth we can experience comes when we are outside of our comfort zone.  I was outside of my comfort zone in so many ways and experienced growth I would not have if not for this time in Zambia.  I challenge us all to find opportunities to get out of our comfort zones and experience the radical growth God has for us all.  We can experience it here in our everyday lives, not just overseas.  So many people in the world are looking for God’s love, blessings and the gospel.  Let’s share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world.
